We are pleased to announce that the Pennsylvania Developmental Disability Council has awarded a grass roots advocacy grant to EAIY to expand our community education program starting July 1, 2009.

One out of four Americans has a disability. That is 25% of us.

If you own or manage a business, a social service agency or a are a community leader, remember 1 out of 4 of your customers have some type of disability. Please, contact EAIY to request information or schedule a presentation that will explain the benefits of an inclusive society for all.

Programs will include:

• Ways of promoting inclusive practices for welcoming and accommodating their customers
• Hiring people with disabilities
• Topics of accessibility
• Reasonable accommodations for employees
• Tax deductions when hiring
• Developing welcoming attitudes to enhance customer relations.
