Index cards
Students are given an index card and told to create their own cue card, putting whatever information they feel is important for taking the test. This may include formulas, vocabulary words, and character names. The student is allowed to use the cue card when taking the test. After the test is completed, corrected and returned, the student reviews the information on their cue card to determine how well they identified the important information. Over time a smaller and smaller cue card should be given, thus assisting students to eventually take tests without any cue cards.
The teacher should collect the cards with the test. It is important for students to understand that the purpose of Cue Cards is to assist them in determining what essential information wil be needed for the test.
